We moved into our new house
We’re homeowners now. I can’t believe it.
In the past three years, we have rented apartments in Puerto Rico, Washington, DC, then back to Puerto Rico, and now, finally—our own home in North Carolina. We moved in last January 26, but our cargo shipment of furniture and personal goods from Puerto Rico doesn’t arrive until the second week of February, so it’s mostly suitcases and toys strewn all over the ground floor and basement of our empty home.
We have a split-level home, and 70% of the entire half-upper floor is in complete chaos. We gutted the whole master bedroom, master bathroom, and second bathroom, in order to reconfigure the layout because the former owners had—are you ready for it—a whirlpool tub INSIDE THEIR BEDROOM. Not in the bathroom; literally inside the bedroom where they sleep.
I mean, whatever floats your boat, right?
Here are a few photos from our first week here, as we get a feel of our home, and gently start to put down roots. There was grilling on the back patio, making a mess of the living room, and lots of demolition.
