Exploring Our Neighborhood

We’re leaving Puerto Rico for good in a few weeks, so we’re trying to spend our weekends trying new things, exploring the unexplored, and taking chances on new restaurants.

This one was a ten minute walk from our apartment. It had the cool ambiance of a hole-in-the-wall in a dark alley that only locals know about. However, the items we ordered from the menu weren’t very good, save for the free coconut bread they served us at the end of the meal.

Sadly, this was one of my biggest frustrations about living on this island: compared to Manila (and just Asia in general), the food scene is pretty subpar. That's not to say there aren't any good restaurants or good food here -- but they're tough to find, especially when you're not a local.  I'm sure in the next decade, as Puerto Rico grows, that will change - but for now, I'm definitely excited to move to a city that will have a little bit more diversity in restaurant choices, an Asian market, and a Trader Joe's.
How much is that baby in the window?
(Too expensive, if I’m being honest.)
